About the Role

As a leader in space innovation, we're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Development Senior Manager to spearhead the growth and success of our Next Generation Ground (NG2) Systems. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of space ground systems, collaborate with government customers, and work across the corporation to support critical national security missions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Enterprise Campaign Strategy to persuade customers to partner with Lockheed Martin, delivering robust software and operations solutions that support critical national security missions.
  • Lead external campaigns to transition customers from traditional acquisition paradigms to modern architectures, and internal campaigns to raise awareness of NG2 equities across the corporation.
  • Translate customer needs into high-level technology objectives, crafting impactful messages and communications mediums, such as white papers, demonstrations, proposals, and news forums.
  • Simplify complex technical concepts to enable clear identification of customer value and insights, driving growth and profitability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategic plans, providing internal and external customer-centric communications that positively impact business outcomes.
  • Support the NG2 Strategy & Business Development team with day-to-day tasking, overcoming challenges, and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing, with a focus on the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Proven track record of success in developing and executing business strategies, identifying new business opportunities, and building customer relationships.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required to start.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of the space industry, including current trends, technologies, and government policies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • At least 12 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing, with a focus on the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Experience working with government customers, including the US Space Force, US Air Force, NRO, NGA or other IC customers.
  • Strong knowledge of space ground systems, including space based ISR, communications infrastructure, ground stations, and operations.
  • Experience with digital innovation, including the application of cutting-edge technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders to develop and execute business strategies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop creative solutions.
  • Experience with proposal development, including writing, editing, and submitting proposals to government customers.
