Job Description

About the Role

This is a temporary, two-semester part-time internship position at Lone Star College-University Park, supporting the College Relations department with a focus on social media and digital marketing. The intern will work closely with the Digital Marketing/Social Media Manager to gain hands-on experience in content creation, social media management, outreach, and marketing tasks, contributing to the department's overall goals and gaining valuable skills in digital marketing.

Key Responsibilities

Assists with managing the social media calendar to ensure timely and relevant content delivery.
Acts as a communications liaison with the Mane Squad student content creator program, scheduling meetings, organizing files, and coordinating correspondence.
Contributes to posting approved content onto various platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter in a timely and engaging manner.
Collaborates with the publications lead on gathering newsworthy content to keep campus news and social media presence informative and relevant.
Assists with internal marketing and events.
Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be enrolled at LSC-University Park as a student.
Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Must maintain good academic and disciplinary standing.
Strong understanding of social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Creative and innovative thinking.
Knowledge of social media analytics tools like Google Analytics, Facebook Meta Business Suite, or Monday.
Basic graphic design skills with tools like Canva or Adobe Photoshop is a plus.
Understanding of SEO and content marketing.

Qualifications

Enrolled as a student at LSC-University Park.
Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
