About the Role

The Principal Ads Policy Manager, Advertising Trust Policy at Amazon.com Services LLC is responsible for managing global ad policies across all ad products and Amazon Publishers. The role involves establishing customer experience strategies, supporting policy compliance, and collaborating across multiple teams to ensure high-quality advertising standards. This position offers high visibility within Amazon's advertising ecosystem and requires deep expertise in online advertising, risk mitigation, and brand integrity, with a focus on customer obsession and innovative policy development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clearly communicate risks and product requirements through high-quality written presentations to internal stakeholder teams and senior leadership to support understanding and consensus of policy positions.
  • Work with product teams by creating business requirement documents to ensure policy compliance for developing ad products.
  • Build collaborative relationships across other policy teams within the Ad Trust Policy team, as well as with Legal, PR, Public Policy, Sales, and other business units outside of Ads to support policy management.
  • Support high-risk and high-impact escalations in partnership with moderation and tiered support teams.
  • Build an understanding of how ad tech systems function and how Amazon's systems operate to inform policy work and influence product managers and leadership.
  • Own full policy sets as necessary, including creation, management, communication, technical implementation, and ongoing monitoring through data analysis.

Requirements

  • 7+ years' experience in content moderation, ad tech, product policy, advertising policy, or related roles with a policy focus.
  • Experience effectively collaborating with Public Relations, Legal, and Public Policy teams in high-stakes environments.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional groups within a matrixed organization.
  • Experience managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills that enable trust at all levels, including leadership.
  • Ability to make complex decisions without enough data.
  • Awareness of current and emerging events that impact policy positions.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree, law degree, or MBA.
  • Proven experience driving engineering projects.
  • Proven experience working with metrics and data analysis.
  • Proven experience working on digital advertising in a regulatory position.
  • Proven experience with creative acceptance policies, advertising standards, or related fields.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years' experience in relevant fields with a policy focus.
  • Experience working with public relations, legal, and public policy teams.
  • Ability to analyze data and communicate results effectively.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
