Principal Data Scientist

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end model development lifecycle for causal inference and machine learning use cases that inform HCP engagement, marketing targeting, pharmacy optimization, and strategic account prioritization.
• Mentor and lead other data scientists, elevating team technical standards and project delivery rigor.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Marketing, and Strategy leaders to understand business problems and translate them into model-based solutions.
• Design and deploy experiments, uplift modeling, and counterfactual frameworks to estimate true business impact.
• Contribute to model governance and reproducibility, including documentation, versioning, and code modularization using tools like Git, DBT, and ML pipelines.
• Influence platform and tooling decisions, particularly around cloud infrastructure, MLOps, and data transformation best practices.

Requirements

• PhD or MS in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Math, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in applied data science or ML roles, with recent experience in life sciences or commercial analytics strongly preferred.
• Expertise in causal inference, un-/supervised learning, experimental design, uplift modeling, Bayesian methods, etc.
• Strong coding skills in Python, SQL, Git, and proficiency in data environments such as Snowflake, Foundry, or equivalent.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and deliver through ambiguity.

Qualifications

• Educational background with a PhD or MS in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Math, or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in applied data science or ML roles.
