Principal Product Manager (SCM - Data Lake)

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive product strategy for Palo Alto's flagship product Strata Logging Service, defining short-term and long-term goals aligned with business objectives and market trends.
• Understand customer problems and use cases, collaborating with customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders to gather requirements for new features and enhancements.
• Own the vision, roadmap, and requirements for features related to ingestion, processing, storing, forwarding, and platform scaling of the SaaS platform, balancing priorities based on feedback, market trends, and business needs.
• Collaborate with UX, engineering, and other product team members to deliver high-quality, automated, and optimized products that solve customer problems.
• Work closely with engineering teams to translate product requirements into actionable development plans and support the transformation of traditional logging into value-added capabilities.
• Engage with product marketing, sales engineering, and support teams to develop messaging, sales tools, and training, and gather feedback during beta phases.
• Interact with customers, partners, and sales teams to gather feedback, evangelize the product, and monitor customer satisfaction metrics.
• Define KPIs and analyze performance data to identify areas for optimization and improvement.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product development priorities and strategies.

Requirements

• BS/MS degree or equivalent experience, including military experience.
• 10+ years of product management experience.
• Experience in networking, network management, network security, or next-generation firewalls.
• Hands-on experience managing devices from onboarding to decommissioning and building SaaS products, with a focus on IT operational efficiency preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for leading cross-functional teams.
• Experience working in fast-paced environments with overlapping projects.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear product strategies.
• Experience making data-driven product decisions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in building SaaS products and driving IT operational efficiency.

Qualifications
