Principal Project Specialist

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost related to the refueling project.
• Effectively communicate and oversee with customers, contractors, Radiation Protection, site Outage Management, Reactor Engineering, Operations, and other involved work groups during refueling outages.
• Manage a typical refueling outage which includes reactor disassembly, fuel movement, and reactor reassembly.
• Utilize SAP for financial and administrative tasks related to the project.
• Support customer schedule reviews using Primavera scheduling tool.
• Maintain procedures, work orders, processes, plans, and briefs; direct support staff during refueling outages.
• Promote a safety-first environment and use Human Performance tools.
• Support field assignments lasting 30 to 60 days, including project preparations, execution, and closeout.
• Complete Westinghouse RFPM or WPMR/EPMO training to qualify as a project manager.
• Support PWR refueling outage from initiation to closeout, working directly with customers and vendors.
• Learn Westinghouse procedures and processes for project management.
• Participate in the RFPM group managed by the PWR Operations Manager.
• Support human performance, fatigue management, ALARA, lessons learned, operating experiences, and nuclear outage work requirements.
• Obtain unescorted access at customer sites.
• Participate in the Fitness for Duty Program (Drug and Alcohol screening).

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in relevant fields.
• BS Degree, equivalent industry experience, Naval Nuclear education, or program experience with leadership.
• 1 to 3 years of experience as a Technical Project Manager.
• Experience in Project Management and Nuclear Plant Work.
• Knowledge of nuclear outage procedures, safety protocols, and project execution.
• Ability to learn Westinghouse procedures and processes.
• Experience with SAP and Primavera scheduling tools.
• Ability to support human performance, fatigue rules, ALARA, and lessons learned.
• Ability to obtain unescorted access at customer sites.
• Participation in the Fitness for Duty Program.

Nice to Have

• Experience with nuclear outage service work and requirements.
• Leadership experience in nuclear or related industries.
