Principal Software Development Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute enterprise solution strategy in collaboration with high visibility enterprise teams.
• Compile and research technologies across the organization into a cohesive technical roadmap.
• Create proof of concepts to improve projects and address customer challenges.
• Work closely with a team of engineers to drive delivery excellence and build digital assets.
• Partner with business and IT leaders to resolve complex issues and provide root cause analysis.
• Establish and ensure adherence to technical standards, guidelines, and methodology for use of specified technologies.
• Lead the Technical Advisory Council for application architectural reviews and influence technical standards and tool selection.
• Develop and improve strategic technical direction, maintain departmental multi-year roadmap, and align with enterprise technology roadmap.
• Lead matrixed application technical leads in developing and implementing application standards.
• Act as the most senior technical contributor on strategic initiatives, supporting multi-year programs.
• Identify necessary process changes and lead the department’s DevSecOps maturity journey.
• Select and implement tooling for CI/CD pipelines across all technology stacks.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on information technology experience in systems analysis, application design, development, and leading teams.
• 7+ years of development experience in Java, Python, Spring Boot, and some knowledge of JavaScript, AngularJS, and/or NodeJS.
• 5+ years of experience in building or leading large-scale applications.
• 5+ years of experience with enterprise cloud initiatives, solutions, and developing in GCP/AWS.
• 5+ years of experience managing stakeholder requirements and technical solutions.
• 5+ years of designing and developing modern microservices and cost-effective APIs.
• 3+ years of software development experience with AI technologies, including Generative AI and Large Language Models, and familiarity with frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn.
• 3+ years of experience with DevOps tools such as Kubernetes, Argo, GIT, Jenkins, Maven, JUnit, Docker, JMeter, Antifactory.
• 3+ years of experience with Kafka or open-source distributions.
• 3+ years of experience working on CI/CD pipeline automation.

• Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones and locations.
• Experience researching technical environments.
• Health and wellness domain experience.
• Hands-on experience as full stack developer with AngularJS, JavaScript, Oracle, and NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of Generative AI concepts such as NLP, text generation, conversational AI, and chatbots.
• Experience developing user-facing features or applications.
• Ability to influence and inspire teams to align on technical direction.
• Experience contributing to open-source projects or developing patents.
• Ability to learn and work with emerging cloud/IT technologies and methodologies.
• Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries and build relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience).
