Northrop Grumman Space Systems-Launch and Missile Defense Systems is offering an exciting opportunity for a Principal Software Engineer - (G-Tools) to join our team supporting the U.S. missile defense and strategic command systems, based in Colorado Springs, CO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, which is a vital operational system for missile defense operations.
  • Assist in planning ballistic missile defense operations, monitoring battle progress, and managing connected sensors and weapon systems.
  • Support the integration and synchronization of autonomous sensors, weapon systems, and operations to enhance performance.
  • Participate in all system ground and flight tests to verify and demonstrate missile defense capabilities.
  • Contribute to the development, testing, and integration of software for the C2BMC Global Tools team.

Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time to support business needs.
  • Hands-on experience with Java or C++ software development, testing, or integration.
  • Completed several computer science courses, including Java and/or C++, Data Structures, Algorithms, Computer Security, and Operating Systems.
  • Current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 3 years of related experience, or 1 year with a PhD, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

Nice to Have

  • Up-to-date experience with developing software and scripting on Linux.
  • Previous internship as a software engineer.
  • Experience with Eclipse, Git, Jenkins, Maven, Jira, and Confluence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field preferred from an accredited university.
  • Or a Master's Degree with relevant experience.
  • Or 1 year of experience with a PhD.
  • Or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Salary range of $100,300.00 - $150,500.00, with potential for overtime, shift differentials, and bonuses.
