Key Responsibilities

  • Shape software architecture, guide best practices, and lead projects to deliver high-quality, reliable, and scalable display systems that add value to pilots.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineering teams to ensure successful execution of software projects.
  • Identify areas for process improvements within the software development lifecycle and advocate for best practices in software engineering.
  • Evaluate and select new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance software development efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to establish and execute technical strategy for next-generation avionics solutions, aligning with business goals and customer requirements.
  • Work with stakeholders to capture and manage software requirements, ensuring they are well-defined, complete, and traceable throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee the integration and testing of software solutions, ensuring they meet performance and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • 12+ years of experience in embedded software design and development.
  • Proven experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded software development.

Nice to Have

  • Understanding various software development lifecycle.
  • Significant relevant experience, particularly operating within an Agile framework.
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Python and/or Open GL.
  • Experience in Display & Graphics or Avionics software.
  • Experience with Avionics standards, including A661/A664 standard for aircraft cockpit displays and DO-178C certification compliance.
  • Understanding of product strategy and the role of technology in delivering competitive advantage.
  • Strong accountability with bias for action.
  • Assertive drive to sound technical and robust solutions.
  • Diverse and global teaming and collaboration.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Wide degree of creativity and latitude.
  • Ability to find the correct balance between demand and capacity when establishing priorities for the organization.
