About the Role

The Product Analyst is a member of the Analytics Team at Macy's, supporting macys.com with analytic insights to enhance planning, execution, and the customer experience. They provide reporting and analysis to Product Management, User Experience, & Technology teams, delivering business intelligence, designing and analyzing experiments, and supporting A/B and multivariate testing programs. The role involves multitasking across project stages and delivering insights to drive business growth, contributing to a dynamic and inclusive environment at Macy's.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Product Management, User Experience, & Technology teams in identifying opportunities to enhance site functionality and increase site conversion.
  • Develop measurement plans and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of new enhancements and experiments on the site.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Customer Insights to provide a customer-centric perspective to web and mobile app project analysis and insights.
  • Design experiments, validate test data, conduct analysis, and report results to measure the impact of functionality enhancements on site metrics such as traffic and conversion.
  • Communicate test results, insights, and actionable recommendations effectively.
  • Provide retrospective analysis on projects, collaborate with Product Management and Finance to provide metrics input, and assist in quantifying sales drivers from technology enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Systems to identify reporting requirements for new site functionality and assist in creating specifications for technology teams to implement correct analytics code.
  • Utilize analytics tools to address business inquiries and present findings to key decision-makers.
  • Produce ad hoc analysis to find opportunities to enhance the product roadmap.
  • Develop and publish reports and dashboards for internal customers.
  • Support and train internal users on digital analytics tools.
  • Stay updated on trends and best practices in digital analytics and e-commerce.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in analyzing data and drawing actionable insights to support decision-making processes.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information and insights to various stakeholders across different levels of the organization.
  • Capability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and adhere to timelines while ensuring quality deliverables.
  • Aptitude for collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, User Experience, Technology, Marketing, and Customer Insights.
  • Capacity to think creatively, strategically, and technically to address challenges and identify opportunities for site enhancement and monetization.
  • Desire and ability to take ownership of products/projects, driving them from conception to execution while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Familiarity with digital analytics tools and MS Office programs to analyze data, generate reports, and develop dashboards.
  • Proficiency with SQL queries, including troubleshooting and writing queries in SQL/GBQ.
  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • 1-2 years of direct experience in a related role.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with in-house and third-party analytic tools.
  • Experience in e-commerce or digital analytics environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • 1-2 years of direct experience.
  • Proficiency in writing and troubleshooting SQL/GBQ queries.
