About the Role

Guardant Health is a leading precision oncology company focused on guarding wellness and giving every person more time free from cancer. Founded in 2012, Guardant is transforming patient care and accelerating new cancer therapies by providing critical insights into what drives disease through its advanced blood and tissue tests, real-world data and AI analytics. The company’s tests help improve outcomes across all stages of care, including screening, monitoring for recurrence, and treatment selection for patients with cancer. The Product Director, reporting to the Senior Director of Product Management, will be responsible for driving market evolution in one of Guardant Health's leading oncology products, shaping how a high-impact diagnostic enters standard of care, and influencing adoption in the MRD market, working closely with technical, clinical, medical, and commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert in the field and drive future concepts for product development.
  • Drive product launch execution through phase gates, commercial excellence programs, and overall product readiness initiatives.

  • Work cross-functionally with R&D, clinical development, regulatory, and commercial teams to drive product delivery from concept to launch.
  • Identify and resolve executional risks to ensure timely and successful product development and rollout.
  • Engage directly and through sales/marketing teams with oncologists, NPs, practice managers, and IDNs to understand MRD use cases and pain points.
  • Engage with external BioPharma customers to navigate their MRD product needs, requirements, and workflows.
  • Define and prioritize product capabilities that align with clinical workflows and improve user experience.
  • Ensure the product aligns with physician needs and payer expectations, including actionable results and clinical utility.
  • Own the business case for one of Guardant Health's leading products, including pricing, COGS, and contribution to the overall oncology portfolio.
  • Monitor competitive activity in MRD and adjacent markets, shaping product differentiation strategy accordingly.
  • Partner with Market Access and Medical Affairs to support reimbursement and payer acceptance.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to develop positioning, messaging, and launch strategies.
  • Support development of customer-facing materials, sales training, and field enablement.
  • Contribute to publication planning and scientific communications supporting the product’s value proposition.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in product management or commercial strategy in diagnostics, oncology, or health technology.
  • Demonstrated success in launching and scaling healthcare products in oncology or molecular diagnostics.
  • Experience working in the MRD, liquid biopsy, or cancer surveillance markets is essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of patient and oncologist journey/touch points in the MRD space is highly desired.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MRD competitive landscape, offerings across diagnostic providers, and reimbursement strategies.
  • Strong strategic thinking, execution rigor, and cross-functional leadership skills.
