Product Manager I

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Be the product champion, leading the growth, strategy and product life cycle management for water cooled centrifugal chillers.
• Maintain and update product roadmaps, product life cycle curves, and set engineering project priorities.
• Launch new products based on voice of customer, strategic pricing, market trends and regulations, delivering on key metrics such as on-growth, on-budget, on-time.
• Develop product vision and business cases for new products or enhancements of existing products, supporting capital appropriation requests as part of long-range planning.
• Conduct thorough market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats in the water cooled centrifugal chiller space.
• Track product performance and drive appropriate actions based on actuals vs. plan.
• Enable sales and service through improved sales tools and literature, working closely with engineering/application engineering for custom quotes.
• Represent Johnson Controls in industry associations and events, collaborating with marketing and government relations teams, and providing thought leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 7 years of BAS or HVAC related experience in product or program management, marketing, or sales.
• Demonstrable business management skills in a product management environment and strong technical knowledge of field and business practices related to the products.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Internet software, and E-mail.
• Domestic and international travel required 20% to 30% of the time.
