About the Role

The Product Marketing Manager III role involves driving product marketing strategy, informing stakeholders about marketing opportunities, providing market insights, and supporting the launch and growth of products and features. The position requires developing and executing marketing campaigns, understanding industry trends, and collaborating across teams to optimize product positioning and user engagement. This role is based in San Bruno, CA, and is a contract/temporary position with a focus on innovative marketing initiatives and market analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert on product(s) or feature(s) to partners across teams to provide input in the product and feature development process, drive market analysis, and predict and provide insights on industry trends on product development and marketing.
  • Drive the meetings to develop marketing plans for regional or functional marketing teams, review the overall portfolio and characteristics, prioritize marketing goals, and define positioning plans to identify and engage the target audience.
  • Drive the framework development and rollout of strategies for product marketing content across channels.
  • Define, identify, collect, and track appropriate product or business metrics, both quantitative and qualitative, for new or existing products or business ventures.
  • Validate the market size and opportunity (e.g., active users, revenue, market size, sales in units, growth, profit), as a key contributor.
  • Use subject matter expertise in the field to identify opportunities in the market landscape.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to build supporting rationales, hypotheses, and visions.
  • Understand the product and target audience, develop the positioning of the product to users, and develop and execute the go-to-market plan and messages for new products and features.
  • Develop user insights to help cross-functional teams and product partners incorporate user voice into product development and marketing strategies.
  • Provide feedback to internal and external teams on improvement opportunities for user experience, advocate for in-product user experience, and promote user engagement.
  • Drive product brand positioning, value propositions, and messaging strategy using voice and user insights, and adapt messaging to different communications.
  • Create marketing content independently to ensure alignment with product strategy, iterate content and design with cross-functional teams, and collaborate with the production team to publish final marketing materials.
  • Determine research needs, scope, manage, and guide user research leveraging internal and external research partners.
  • Drive and manage medium to large-scale campaigns, assets, communications, and programs to address user needs and team objectives, and analyze campaign performance for optimization.

Requirements

  • 4 years of experience with quota-carrying sales or strategic account management at a B2B company.
  • Experience with customers in the manufacturing or industrial sector.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in product positioning, data analysis and synthesis, consumer behavior, situational leadership, campaign management, marketing briefs, client/partner management, brand management, industry knowledge, storytelling, and go-to-market activities.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with industry knowledge relevant to manufacturing or industrial markets.
  • Additional skills in strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration.
