About the Role

The Product Strategy Specialist supports the product and market functions within Superior Essex, focusing on all aspects of the product line(s) including financial analysis, sales support, marketing strategies, product launches, and market research. The role involves developing and executing marketing programs to improve sales and profitability, supporting sales teams, and identifying new product opportunities in the electrical insulation and related markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of pricing strategies in collaboration with sales teams to meet revenue goals and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan and strategy for market segments, primarily electrical insulation products.
  • Create core positioning and messaging for each market segment and product category.
  • Analyze the competitiveness of each product offering and identify marketplace trends.
  • Conduct market research and customer interviews to identify technology and innovation trends.
  • Monitor market segment trends and identify opportunities for new products and services.
  • Support and develop go-to-market strategies for new products, including planning launches and developing supporting materials.
  • Coordinate marketing communications for assigned segments and collaborate with marketing management and other product champions.
  • Develop sales training materials to support new product introductions and existing lines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Management, Marketing, or equivalent.
  • 2 to 5 years' experience in industrial distribution or managing industrial product lines.
  • 1 to 3 years' experience supporting sales teams with business insights, sales tools, product specifications, training, and presentations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong project management skills to keep projects on track.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships and participate in cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter attitude.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience supporting successful B2B product marketing campaigns in industrial, automotive, energy, and commercial segments.
  • Prior electrical market knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access.

  • Educational background in engineering, Management, or Marketing.
