About the Role

A Program Manager at Google will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects related to the delivery of Google's Data Center Portfolio. The role involves coordinating stakeholders, managing project schedules and budgets, identifying risks, and implementing scalable processes to support the organization of data and continuous improvement. The position emphasizes collaboration across offices, time zones, and organizational levels to ensure efficient project execution and support Google's technical infrastructure and product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Google Data Center (GDC) partner teams and Engineering groups as well as across organizations (GCD, TI Finance, etc.) to support the delivery and management of Google's Capital Expenditure program.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement of project controls for both schedule and cost needs that create impact.
  • Support Data Center Project Managers and work directly with project teams at a site or metro level to support project control implementation including setup, training, execution and assurance.
  • Maintain project control specifications and scopes of work for contractors and vendors that are aligned with internal procedures.
  • Implement continuous improvement process and feedback loop.
  • Develop and implement performance measurement systems for projects and the portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in the construction of technical facilities with overseeing project control scope.
  • 5 years of experience managing multinational and technical programs/projects.
  • 5 years of experience in capital expenditure program, cost management for mission critical, construction, or data centers.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in project sites as well as in home office environments.
  • Experience leading cross-functional process improvements and holding project leads accountable to the greater project goals.
  • Experience in scheduling, Earned Value Management (EVM), change order review, review and approval of proposals, invoicing, pay applications, risk management, and value engineering.
  • Understanding of accountability and ownership for a project life-cycle.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence across multiple levels of an organization.

  • Educational background in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.

Benefits & Perks

  • US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
  • Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, with individual pay influenced by work location, skills, experience, and education.
  • Additional benefits include bonus, equity, and other perks as outlined by Google.
