About the Role

The Program Manager, working for the Central Testing Unit department at BMO Financial Group, will be accountable for managing assigned projects from initiation to implementation to achieve desired business results. This role involves ensuring successful project delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards, while mitigating risks and coordinating cross-functional teams including project managers, business and technology resources, vendors, and external regulators. The position operates under a hybrid work model (2 days/week in Brookfield, WI) and is an individual contributor role focused on delivering strategic initiatives that support business growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate assigned projects from cradle to grave, ensuring all project artifacts are completed and project deliverables are met.
Lead a cross-functional team capable of delivering the desired business results.
Provide strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor and influence stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
Develop and manage project budgets, financial forecasts, and conduct ongoing reconciliation.
Monitor and track project performance, address issues, and make adjustments to achieve project goals.
Design and produce regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards to communicate project status and performance.
Socialize change management plans with stakeholders and measure project effectiveness and adoption.
Ensure all project processes comply with governance frameworks, risk appetite, and regulatory standards.
Advise project sponsors on business case viability, including costs, benefits, and KPIs.
Identify project risks early, establish mitigation strategies, and demonstrate critical thinking in managing interdependencies.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, build trust, and demonstrate ownership and accountability for project outcomes.
Lead or represent the project in meetings, governance forums, and inter-departmental discussions.
Operate at a group/enterprise-wide level, serving as a resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.

Requirements

Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and/or certification in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
6 to 8 years of technology project management experience.
Experience with software development projects, particularly application development.
Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies is a must.
Well-versed in automation and modernization is a plus.
Valid PMP designation from PMI is an asset.

Nice to Have

Certification in Agile and Scrum (CSM).
PMP certification.

Qualifications

Educational background or certifications in project management or related fields (implied by experience requirements).
