The DISH Media Ad Sales team, headquartered in New York City with additional offices in Chicago, Denver, and Los Angeles, specializes in data-driven addressable and programmatic advertising solutions, helping brands reach their target audiences across DISH and Sling platforms through innovative and dynamic TV advertising strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for SSP and DSP partners, ensuring optimal integration and troubleshooting any technical issues
  • Act as an internal programmatic technical expert, providing deep dives into ad tech functionalities, deal execution mechanics, and technical optimization strategies for product, engineering, data, sales, client services, and operations teams, as well as external clients
  • Continuously monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices; identify technical opportunities to enhance DISH Media's programmatic infrastructure and collaborate with engineering and product teams to implement solutions
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of programmatic tech and deal performance metrics to identify technical anomalies, threats, or optimization opportunities; provide detailed technical recommendations and work with Ops and cross-functional teams to resolve issues
  • Lead technical evaluations of new ad tech products, features, and vendors, assessing their compatibility with existing systems and potential impact on performance
  • Provide tactical and strategic technical input for the programmatic product roadmap, focusing on infrastructure improvements, new feature development, and integration needs
  • Own the internal programmatic tech stack, process documentation, and technical training materials; collaborate with other Ops leads to ensure documentation is current, thorough, and technically accurate; deliver technical training to groups across DISH Media and the company

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 5+ years of experience in a technical programmatic role within ad operations, tech ops, publisher campaign management, TV ad sales, agency, or ad tech company
  • Deep technical knowledge of the programmatic ecosystem, including SSPs (e.g., Magnite), DSPs (e.g., The Trade Desk), ad servers (e.g., FreeWheel, Google Ad Manager), and header bidding technologies
  • Strong ability to build complex technical reports, analyze raw data, and translate technical findings into actionable insights
  • Advanced technical knowledge of programmatic and digital advertising metrics, including their calculation and interpretation
  • Expertise in digital ad tech communication protocols such as OpenRTB (oRTB), VAST, VPAID, MRAID, and understanding of creative formats and their technical specifications
  • Strong written and verbal technical communication skills, capable of explaining complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to drive technical initiatives from conception to completion and lead complex cross-functional projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in a relevant technical programmatic role
