About the Role

Power your future with Qualus in our Program Management department as a Project Controls Specialist II. As a Project Control Specialist II, you will support our electric transmission line and substation capital projects by processing invoices, change orders and assist with early pay discounts. The Project Controls Specialist II will help manage project costs, identify project progress, and enhance our internal analytics program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate project status and analytical findings to Project Managers, project teams, and key stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera or comparable scheduling software.
  • Generate and present project reports that are essential to team operations and decision-making.
  • Benchmark project performance, estimates, and actual costs against historical and comparable projects.
  • Provide an independent assessment of project performance utilizing earned value management (EVM) metrics.
  • Conduct trend analyses on labor hours, labor costs, and equipment costs.
  • Identify potential performance issues and recommend mitigation strategies to address areas of concern

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of directly related experience in cost accounting, and/or project management on engineering services and/or construction projects.
  • Proficiency and knowledge of cost/planning/control and reporting techniques, specifically project accounting practices and use of financial systems (e.g., system input and reporting, invoicing and cash flow, revenue recognition, etc.).
  • Very proficient computer skills using MS Excel, Access, Project, Word and Power Point.
  • Proven accuracy, reliability, and completeness in job accomplishment.
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Qualifications
