About the Role

The Project Executive - Plumbing at ACCO Engineered Systems is responsible for business development, targeting and developing new revenue opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and building a prospect pipeline. The role involves supervising project management activities, increasing market revenue, and fostering strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams. Reporting directly to the Sales Manager, this position plays a key role in driving growth and professional development within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sustain current project management responsibilities with existing customer base.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the pursuit, sale, and engineering of projects.
  • Provide high-level budget support for prospective clients not currently supported by the Project Management team.
  • Develop bid strategies for the assigned region including risk management through the bid review process.
  • Optimize Project Management teams and project assignments by assigning clients and projects appropriately.
  • Supervise full-cycle project management from sales inception, client meetings, contract development, scheduling, pre-construction meetings, to project completion.
  • Maintain records and up-to-date information on prospects, target accounts, and new clients.
  • Increase revenue and profits for the region by expanding project opportunities across ACCO products and markets.
  • Create and define business development strategies aligned with ACCO's strategic plan.
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities through market analysis and external relationships.
  • Monitor market and competitor activities and trends.
  • Identify, prospect, qualify, and build relationships with current and new clients.
  • Develop strong consultative relationships to understand clients' business objectives.
  • Host client shop tours to build confidence and convey ACCO's value.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal departments, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Manage employee performance, support career development, and mentor team members.
  • Support recruitment, hiring, training, managing, and retention of Project Managers.
  • Work with supervisors and HR to maintain a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in Engineering, Sales Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in estimating, designing, and managing HVAC projects from $5 million to over $25 million.
  • 10+ years of successful team management experience.
  • Ability to operate independently with discretionary judgment and consult with senior leadership when appropriate.
  • Strong leadership, ethics, and cultural commitment.
  • Ability to engage high-level decision makers and influence outcomes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with management and accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with business systems software such as JDE, IFS, BidTracer, FastEst, Bluebeam, etc.
  • Strong consultative and estimating skills with ownership and accountability.
  • Self-driven, motivated, results-oriented, and collaborative.
  • Proven negotiation, relationship-building, and sales presentation skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally and perform tasks requiring sitting, standing, walking, and using hands.
  • Regular attendance and ability to travel as needed.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Business Systems Software such as JDE, IFS, BidTracer, FastEst, Bluebeam, Box, Smartsheet.
  • Additional certifications or advanced training in HVAC or project management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sales Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ to 10+ years of relevant experience in HVAC project management and team leadership.
