About the Role

The Project Manager, HR Projects, will play a critical role in leading and driving key initiatives that make up the Human Resources strategic operating plan. Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, this role is responsible for managing assigned initiatives and ensuring their successful execution, working closely with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. The position requires strong organizational skills, leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication abilities. The HR function provides an integrated talent management system that supports the company's competitive advantage in the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned HR initiatives that align with organizational priorities and goals
  • Manage initiatives from initiation to closure, ensuring scope, goals, and deliverables are clearly defined in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget constraints
  • Create and execute comprehensive communication plans that ensure all stakeholders are informed of project goals, progress, risks, and changes
  • Collaborate across the HR function and other business areas to drive execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring stakeholder engagement and alignment
  • Implement change management strategies to support adoption of new processes, tools, and outcomes across the HR function, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum success
  • Monitor and report on project status, risks, decisions, and issues to all stakeholders, including project teams, management, and executive leadership
  • Implement consistent project governance structures and processes to ensure quality delivery across assigned projects
  • Proactively identify obstacles and risks, developing strategies to mitigate them and maintain project momentum
  • Facilitate collaboration between departments, external partners, and other project managers to ensure seamless execution and handover of deliverables
  • Encourage continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process enhancements within project frameworks
  • Promote strong stakeholder engagement and foster a positive team environment that motivates and empowers team members

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • 10+ years of project/program management experience, preferably in complex, dynamic environments
  • PMP certification
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale projects, with demonstrated ability to handle risks, budgets, and resources effectively across multiple workstreams
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interface effectively with teams and executives at all levels, both internal and external
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of overcoming project challenges and delivering results
  • Demonstrated expertise in change management methodologies with experience supporting organizational transitions and driving adoption of new processes or systems
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and leadership abilities, with the capacity to remain professional and composed under pressure
  • Highly confidential, trustworthy, and discreet in handling sensitive information
  • Proven time management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced, global environment
  • Results-driven and continuously learning, with a curious mindset and strong business acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to embrace change, take initiative, and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Collaborative team player with a personable and approachable demeanor; builds strong relationships within teams and across functions
  • Skilled in managing conflicts and addressing challenging conversations with colleagues constructively and confidently
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and common productivity tools (Outlook, Smartsheet, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, and Visio)

Nice to Have

  • Additional project methodology certifications such as Agile, Scrum, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Experience in managing technical projects
