As a Project Manager I, you will be instrumental in managing project performance, ensuring customer requirements are met, and driving project success within the aerospace sector, typically managing moderate complexity projects and serving as the primary point of contact for stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project management, contract performance, and internal interface of assigned Parker projects.
  • Develop and oversee project scope, including creating program charters and baseline plans.
  • Evaluate resource requirements and perform risk analysis to ensure correct cost basis and pricing.
  • Define plans and monitor costs and technical performance to milestones and schedules.
  • Make decisions on technical and schedule priorities within the team's scope.
  • Facilitate and ensure effective product/technology gate reviews.
  • Improve project effectiveness through process and system standardization.
  • Communicate project status to division staff, management, and customers through reviews.
  • Make project decisions within overall budget and resource parameters, utilizing cost and budget data for prioritization.
  • Establish, monitor, and control project costs and approve budget expenditures.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop action plans for improved project performance.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Sciences, Business, or a related field.
  • PMP certification required, typically within 6 months of assignment.
  • Eight or more years of related work experience with technical engineering and manufacturing projects and programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and programs with high-technology customers, products, and processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Project Management five stage process and proficiency with program management methodologies.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as scheduling, cost management, change control, scope, and risk management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and serve as a customer advocate.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Proficiency with financial analysis including cost breakdowns, risk analysis, and budgeting.
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry standards.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree (MS/MBA).
  • Experience with cost, contract terms, and profit decisions.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and cooperation with diverse groups.
  • Experience supporting and developing project teams through training and coaching.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Sciences, Business, or related field.
  • PMP certification (required within 6 months).
  • Eight or more years of related technical engineering and manufacturing project experience.
