About the Role

This role focuses on managing operational aspects of ongoing projects from initiation through completion and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. It involves performing Administration Project Management duties, overseeing processes, programs, and policies using specialized knowledge and skills typically acquired through advanced education. The position manages large projects or processes with limited oversight, coaching, reviewing, and delegating work to lower level professionals, and resolving complex problems. The role is integral to ensuring project delivery aligns with organizational objectives, quality standards, and stakeholder expectations within a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and aligns the project portfolio with organizational objectives, priorities, and strategies.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement across departments and projects, leading assessment, reengineering, and implementation efforts.
  • Develops and implements change management strategies to facilitate smooth transitions during process improvement initiatives.
  • Fosters collaboration and coordination among departments and project teams.
  • Oversees resource allocation across multiple complex projects, ensuring optimal utilization and alignment with project objectives.
  • Identifies and assesses risks associated with complex projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Develops and manages project budgets, ensuring financial accountability and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Establishes project governance frameworks, ensuring adherence to policies, regulations, and best practices.
  • Prepares and delivers regular project status reports to executive leadership, providing updates on progress, risks, and issues.
  • Coaches and mentors junior project managers and team members.
  • Drives organizational change related to process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborates with senior management to define change strategies and secure executive sponsorship.
  • Communicates project achievements, value delivered, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Facilitates effective communication channels and cross-functional teamwork.
  • Monitors vendor performance, enforces contract compliance, and resolves vendor-related issues.
  • Develops risk mitigation plans, monitors risks, and implements proactive measures.
  • Captures and shares lessons learned to improve future project delivery.
  • Fosters professional growth and shares best practices in project management.
  • Reviews financial reports, analyzes project costs, and implements cost-saving measures.
  • Anticipates resistance, communicates change effectively, and engages stakeholders throughout initiatives.
  • Identifies resource gaps and implements strategies to address them.

Requirements

  • Master's degree.
  • Project Management certification, PMP, or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of experience managing complex projects in a healthcare environment.
  • Ability to apply project management tools, concepts, and methodologies.
  • Ability to define projects by translating customer issues/needs into solutions.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills for effective communication with individuals from various backgrounds.
  • Flexibility, agility, and change management skills.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to synthesize complex information.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with databases (e.g., MS Access).
  • Outstanding attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • High professional confidence and credibility to work with leadership teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and plans.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with process improvement methodologies such as LEAN.
  • Experience in vendor selection, negotiation, and management.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree.
