Job Description

About the Role

The QA Engineer's role is to validate core Amadeus back-end applications, identifying functional issues early in the development cycle to prevent them from reaching production. The position involves reviewing specifications, designing test cases, creating manual and automated scripts, and defining, implementing, and rolling out new quality processes. The tooling environment includes distributed systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Review specifications, design test cases, and create manual and automated scripts.
  • Define test strategies, plans, and cases (functional and non-functional), ensuring traceability with requirements.
  • Design and execute manual test cases, validate features, and provide go/no-go decisions based on exit criteria.
  • Assess and implement test automation, contributing to the improvement of frameworks.
  • Maintain and optimize test cases in regression and CI/CD pipelines, addressing flaky tests and updating cases as needed.
  • Manage defects by reporting, investigating, and verifying fixes to ensure production quality.
  • Report on testing progress and milestones, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Work effectively within Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and contribute to continuous improvement processes.

Requirements

  • Technical and functional expertise in testing back-end applications.
  • Experience in designing and executing test cases, both manual and automated.
  • Preferred experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Appium, JUnit, TestNG.
  • Knowledge of programming languages like Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD.
  • Collaborative and proactive attitude with a strong focus on quality.
  • Adaptability and eagerness to contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards throughout the development process.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with distributed systems.
