React Native Software Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of new and existing features for a portfolio of applications for a business area.
• Collaborate with designers to translate UI/UX designs into high-quality, responsive code.
• Integrate RESTful APIs or other backend services to ensure robust app functionality.
• Optimize application performance for speed, scalability, and a seamless user experience.
• Write clean, modular, and testable code following best practices and coding standards.
• Debug and resolve technical issues to ensure app stability and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and sprint retrospectives; communicate ideas for team continuous improvement.
• Assist in deploying applications to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and UX designers to understand requirements and translate designs into solutions.
• Participate in proof of concept work and prototyping when necessary.
• Automate testing of software to ensure high-quality delivery and efficient regression testing.
• Ensure application and system stability during transition to production environments.
• Participate in daily standups, outline progress, and report impediments.
• Focus on delivering business value and improving customer experience.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience developing mobile applications with React Native.
• Proven track record of delivering apps to production on iOS and Android platforms.
• Solid experience building and deploying React Native apps to both iOS and Android platforms.
• Experience with JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and React concepts.
• Strong proficiency in React Native and its ecosystem (e.g., Redux, React Navigation).
• Experience with RESTful APIs or third-party libraries and APIs.
• Familiarity with native build tools like Xcode, Android Studio, or Gradle.
• Knowledge of mobile UI/UX principles and responsive design.
• Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Detox) is a plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and mobile app deployment processes including GitHub actions.

Nice to Have

• Experience with native mobile development (Swift, Kotlin, or Objective-C).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of app store deployment processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent relevant business experience.
