About the Role

Mueller Water Products is seeking a Regional Manager for the Southeast Region to drive sales of water management solutions, including leak detection, pipeline assessment, and pressure monitoring products. The role involves working with channel partners, developing sales strategies, and promoting Mueller's offerings to address aging water infrastructure and non-revenue water issues. The position offers opportunities for sales growth, management experience, and requires travel within the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for sales targets in the assigned region, including direct sales and results through third-party reps.
  • Extensive travel throughout the territory, with a target of 50% to 75%.
  • Understanding clients' needs and designing solutions using Mueller technologies and services.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with customers, agents, distributors, and Mueller sales teammates.
  • Mentoring and developing third-party reps.
  • Preparing quotations, technical proposals, RFPs, tender responses, and presentations.
  • Negotiating and closing sales, tenders, and providing after-sales support and follow-up.
  • Recording and maintaining client contact data in the company's CRM system, Salesforce.com.
  • Understanding and demonstrating the company's products and services.
  • Participating in marketing activities such as attending conferences and publishing technical papers and case studies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in an engineering or technology-based discipline.
  • Experience selling to the water market.
  • Technical experience in pressure management, non-revenue water management, leak detection, asset management, or pipeline condition assessment.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales quotas and/or technical experience.
  • Minimum four (4) years of work experience in technical sales roles.
  • Ability to work independently to drive sales in the assigned territory.
  • Passion to grow and develop a career with a growth-oriented company.
  • Presentation skills, learning agility, interpersonal savvy, listening skills, organizational agility, and drive for results.

Nice to Have

  • Trained and proficient in solutions selling methodology.
  • A degree in a technical field such as science, math, engineering, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a technology-based discipline.
  • Experience in technical sales within the water industry.
