About the Role

The CBS affiliate WRBL-TV in Columbus, GA seeks a dynamic Sales Account Executive. The role involves generating advertising revenue by engaging with established agencies, cold-calling new prospects, and convincing potential clients of the benefits of television advertising. The position requires implementing strategies to grow revenue, establishing credible relationships with the local business community, maintaining and developing accounts, and delivering sales presentations to clients. The Sales Account Executive also explains advertising options, provides rate information, develops advertising schedules, and collaborates with station personnel to develop advertisements.

Key Responsibilities

Generate advertising revenue by calling on established agencies and cold-calling new prospects.
Convince potential clients of the merits of television advertising.
Implement strategies to consistently grow revenue and exceed revenue goals.
Establish credible relationships with the local business community.
Make sales calls on existing and prospective clients.
Maintain assigned accounts and develop new accounts.
Prepare and deliver sales presentations to clients.
Explain to customers how specific types of advertising will help promote their products or services.
Provide clients with information regarding rates for advertising placement in all media.
Develop advertising schedules with clients and station personnel responsible for placing advertising into station media.
Work with clients and station personnel to develop advertisements.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
Minimum one year's experience in sales, preferably in the media field.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Experience achieving long-range objectives and implementing strategies to achieve them.
Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.

Qualifications
