About the Role

The Sales Account Manager at Burkhart Dental Supply is responsible for providing expert advice on dental merchandise, equipment, and services to clients, focusing on sales growth within existing accounts and new client acquisition. This role involves driving the sales cycle, nurturing client relationships, and working closely with internal teams to support client success. The position is outside sales, potentially requiring significant travel, and is integral to supporting the company's mission of integrity, knowledge, and client success in the dental industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on dental merchandise, equipment, and services to clients to support their success.
  • Focus on merchandise and small equipment sales to assigned clients, while growing sales within existing and new clients.
  • Drive the sales cycle by working closely with Equipment Specialists and Service Technicians to nurture current client relationships and develop new sales opportunities.
  • Meet or exceed sales volume, growth, and margin targets for assigned product lines.
  • Prospect for new clients and network to grow the business, including meeting sales goals such as Supply Savings Guarantee (SSG).
  • Ensure clients utilize Burkhart for all three facets of business: Equipment, Merchandise, & Service.
  • Provide an exceptional client experience through effective communication and high-quality customer service.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Co-travel with team members and partners when applicable to support sales efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field, or significant experience in Dental Merchandise Sales.
  • At least 4 years of successful outside sales experience in a medical or technical sales field.
  • Demonstrated success in closing large equipment sales.
  • Ability to travel frequently by car and airplane, with out-of-town travel up to 50% depending on territory.
  • Valid driver's license, good driving record, and insurability at all times.

  • Dental sales experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4 years of outside sales experience in a medical or technical field.
