About the Role

As the Community Donation Manager at Savers, you will oversee the management and operations of the Community Donation Center, ensuring a positive donor experience and promoting the company's brand and community partnerships. You will lead a team of CDC Ambassadors, uphold company standards, and foster community relationships to support Savers' mission of championing reuse and reducing landfill waste through community donations and nonprofit partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Community Donation Center (CDC) is organized, clean, safe, and welcoming, maintaining donation flow, storage, and staging.
  • Partner with the Production Manager/Store Manager to manage donation flow from the CDC into the production room to facilitate a manageable supply flow.
  • Engage with customers and donors to promote Savers' brand both in-store and in the community.
  • Ensure donations are accurately weighed by classification and accounted for.
  • Plan, track, and measure donation goals and results.
  • Use the CDC Scheduler and Daily Planner to schedule CDC Ambassadors appropriately, ensuring coverage aligns with expected volume and donor traffic.
  • Leverage Voice of the Customer Program to improve donor satisfaction.
  • Lead, direct, and supervise the work of CDC Ambassadors, including recruiting, training, coaching, and recognizing team members.
  • Develop a culture of appreciation for donors and donations, ensuring staff provide fast, friendly, respectful service.
  • Assess and direct team activity to meet standards, and respond to donor questions, requests, and complaints.
  • Educate store team members on Savers' brand and business model to promote community awareness.
  • Drive grassroots efforts and promote awareness of the CDC, the company brand, and the benefits of donating.
  • Partner with the Sourcing team to lead or assist in Fundrive events as needed.
  • Network within the community through grassroots efforts to share the Savers story and promote community impact.

Requirements

  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Mathematical skills.
  • Ability to communicate well in both verbal and written forms.
  • Ability to observe, assess, and coach the work of others.
  • Ability to lead and supervise a team of CDC Ambassadors.
  • Ability to plan staffing needs and manage schedules.
  • Ability to foster a positive, respectful, and values-driven workplace.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in community outreach or nonprofit partnerships.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in retail or community service settings.

Qualifications

  • Experience in customer service or community engagement preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
