About the Role

The Senior Advisor, Product Excellence role at TransUnion is part of the Commercial Success team within the Global Solutions organization. The position involves developing core product management skills across the global product organization, collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, optimize the product lifecycle, and foster a culture of continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and operational excellence. The role emphasizes coaching, training, and empowering product managers to enhance their competencies and drive product success in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coach product managers on essential product management skills, including Voice of the Customer (VOC), backlog grooming, and go-to-market (GTM) strategies.
  • Deliver comprehensive training programs to enhance product managers' competencies in these areas.
  • Train product managers on effective VOC techniques to gather and analyze customer insights.
  • Ensure product managers can translate VOC data into actionable product improvements.
  • Implement best practices for backlog grooming to prioritize features and tasks effectively.
  • Develop and execute successful GTM strategies, coaching teams on tools and frameworks for product planning and launches.
  • Organize workshops and seminars to develop product managers' skills and promote a culture of learning.
  • Provide constructive feedback to product managers and track their skill development progress.
  • Incorporate software tools like Jira and Confluence to streamline workflows and enable analytics.
  • Synthesize key product analytics to guide strategy and establish data-informed practices.
  • Standardize ways of working, communication, documentation, and reporting across teams.
  • Manage and allocate resources effectively to develop global change programs and ensure timely delivery.

Requirements

  • Experience in coaching product managers on core product management skills such as VOC, backlog grooming, and GTM strategies.
  • Proficiency in training teams on VOC techniques and translating insights into product improvements.
  • Knowledge of backlog grooming best practices and process implementation.
  • Experience in developing and executing GTM strategies using established tools and frameworks.
  • Ability to organize workshops and foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Experience in providing performance feedback and tracking skill development.
  • Proficiency with tools like Jira, Confluence, Tableau, and MySQL.
  • Strong analytical skills to synthesize product data and provide actionable insights.
  • Experience in standardizing workflows, communication, and documentation processes.
  • Ability to manage resources and develop global change programs.
  • 10+ years of data analytics or software product management and/or product operations experience.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with a proven ability to inspire high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Understanding of agile methodologies and product management best practices.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree a plus.

  • Proven track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams across multiple countries.
  • Proficiency with additional analytics or project management tools.
  • Strategic thinking to align product operations with broader business objectives.
