About the Role

Senior Creative Strategist - US at DEPT® is a leadership role focused on driving digital advertising performance through strategic creative planning, innovation, testing, and optimization. The role involves collaborating with media and creative teams, ensuring brand and platform guideline adherence, and acting as a client advocate within a fast-paced, global agency environment that values innovation, inclusivity, and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide and author creative strategy for a large-scale global account, working directly with media and design teams to execute strategic creative tests.
  • Foster strong relationships within the team and provide guidance to help them succeed.
  • Act as a client advocate, ensuring their goals are clearly communicated and achieved through collaboration with internal teams.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular status updates, strategy presentations, and transparent communication.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to drive client success and advocate for their needs within the agency.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations that use data to tell a story and influence senior leadership decisions.
  • Craft creative briefs and oversee execution from a strategy perspective, developing and maintaining a creative roadmap supporting critical client goals.
  • Leverage expertise and research to recommend new strategic creative directions that could unlock growth opportunities.
  • Track the progress of creative testing efforts, report on trends, and present creative audits through performance analysis, research, and persona development.
  • Develop and maintain strategic creative testing roadmaps, form strong testing hypotheses, and prioritize tests based on impact and past results.
  • Understand the role of brand and incorporate brand narrative and impact into work.
  • Prioritize creative production requests, organize documentation, and ensure performance signals are infused into new creative production.
  • Produce thought leadership content such as blog posts, case studies, white papers, and webinars.
  • Possess experience working on Creator-focused ads or Creator-generated content to harness influencer content for performance.

Requirements

  • 4+ years experience in Creative Strategy or a closely related role in the Digital Marketing space with a creative focus.
  • Extensive experience using data to fuel creative testing recommendations and presenting insights to senior leadership.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of visual advertising platforms in Social (TikTok, Snap, FB/IG), Display (GDN), and Mobile (App), including ad types, placements, and basic media strategy.
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable speaking to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills, with the ability to tell compelling stories through data.
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring small teams, fostering growth, and building strong team dynamics.
