About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer II to help expand our data engineering capabilities. In this hands-on role, you will contribute to the evolution of our data platform, building and improving systems that power internal analytics and customer-facing intelligence. You will collaborate with product, engineering, and analytics teams to ensure data is structured, secure, and ready to support our growth. This is an opportunity to join a foundational team and build scalable pipelines, data platform capabilities, and infrastructure that enable trusted insights. Your work will support operational reporting and product analytics, while contributing to a growing data function. Teamwork and shared enthusiasm are core to our culture, which involves working in the Boston office two days each week.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to Data Platform Evolution by helping build and scale a robust, flexible platform that enables analytics and data-driven experiences across our products.
Build Scalable Data Infrastructure to develop reliable systems for ingesting, transforming, storing, and serving data using batch and near real-time approaches.
Deliver Trusted Data Pipelines by building and maintaining resilient, observable pipelines that connect APIs, databases, and event streams for internal and customer-facing use cases.
Support Data Quality & Observability by advancing practices in validation, monitoring, and governance to ensure high-quality and trustworthy data systems.
Partner Across Teams by working closely with analytics, product, and engineering teams to ensure data pipelines are structured, governed, and optimized for key use cases.
Contribute to Shared Data Models through collaboration on well-documented, maintainable data models that meet the needs of multiple teams and stakeholders.
Mentor and Contribute to Engineering Culture by sharing best practices, contributing to standards, and supporting a collaborative, high-quality data engineering discipline.
Explore and Introduce New Tools by evaluating new technologies and contributing to the evolution of our platform as needs grow.

Requirements

5+ years of experience building data systems, including hands-on work with data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and SQL performance tuning.
Familiarity with AWS services including Aurora, S3, Lambda, and Terraform, with the ability to apply these tools pragmatically.
Experience with modern data stack tools such as Airflow, dbt, and Redshift or Snowflake for transformation and orchestration.
Comfort writing pipelines and workflows in Python or similar languages, viewing data engineering as software engineering.
Experience working with sensitive data, implementing role-based access control, and ensuring data privacy and auditability.
Ability to work closely with cross-functional partners and translate ambiguous problems into clear engineering solutions.

Nice to Have

Experience supporting or building analytics platforms for end users or product-facing features.
Exposure to streaming or real-time data pipelines.
Familiarity with dbt for transformation logic and data modeling.
