About the Role

The Data Science & Machine Learning team at Squarespace is seeking a Data Scientist to support marketing investment decisions through statistical modeling, test design, and causal inference techniques. The role involves developing and integrating data science models into company practices and products to unlock value for Squarespace and its customers. This hybrid position is based in NYC, working from the office 3 days per week, reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Science & Machine Learning.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, Strategists, and Engineers to identify opportunities and deliver data science solutions
Prototype different approaches to identify the best data solutions for business problems
Design, deploy, and maintain statistical and machine-learning models in business- and customer-facing applications, such as marketing mix modeling, customer lifetime value modeling, and customer segmentation
Continuously validate and improve model performance through iterative testing, tuning, and feature engineering
Propose, design, and execute marketing lift tests leveraging traditional A/B test designs and model-based approaches like causal impact
Research advancements in data science and machine learning to evaluate new techniques and technologies for potential application

Requirements

Master's Degree with 4+ years of experience working in a Data Science or similar role (Ph.D. degrees are welcome but not required)
Experience developing statistical or ML models, including Bayesian inference, marketing mix modeling, or lifetime value modeling
Strong competency with Python and SQL
Experience communicating data science solutions to technical and non-technical audiences

Nice to Have

Experience with Bayesian inference
Experience with marketing mix modeling or lifetime value modeling

Qualifications

Master's Degree in a relevant field
4+ years of experience in Data Science or a similar role
