About the Role

Okta is The World's Identity Company, dedicated to enabling secure and flexible access, authentication, and automation across various technologies and devices. As a Developer Advocate at Okta, you will empower developers to better secure their applications with Auth0, lead technical content creation, and support developer communities. The role involves representing the platform at industry events, building relationships within the community, and collaborating with product teams to improve developer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the face of the platform to developers worldwide, especially startups, inspiring, educating, and empowering them to secure their applications using Auth0.
Represent Auth0 at industry events, conferences, and webinars to engage the developer community and showcase expertise.
Develop and share high-quality technical content such as blog posts, tutorials, videos, and labs to educate and inspire developers.
Build and nurture relationships with influential developers and community members.
Advocate for developers' needs within the Auth0 Product team, actively improving the developer experience.
Collaborate with product and architecture teams to provide feedback and insights from the developer community.
Assist in crafting and launching Auth0 capabilities, reviewing documentation, SDKs, and product features.
Bring developer feedback into the company to inform product development and documentation improvements.

Requirements

Technical background or good understanding of Application Development and IT operations.
Familiarity with Identity and Authentication Management software, cybersecurity concepts, and credentialing.
Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, or implementing software tools and products.
Ability to explain complex technology concepts in simple, intuitive communications.
Strong independent contributor with collaborative skills and experience working with multi-functional teams.
Comfortable in a fast-paced, iterative environment.

Nice to Have

Experience working as a Developer Advocate, Evangelist, Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Customer Success Manager, or Technical Account Manager.
Experience with authentication or authorization protocols such as OAuth, OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, LDAP.
Understanding of core security concerns like password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption, XSS, XSRF.
Experience building web, mobile, and IoT applications with front and back end frameworks.
Experience working with API architectures like REST and GraphQL, including using dev tools and HTTP clients.
Experience running code sprints or technology workshops.
Experience working with startup and/or nonprofit sectors.
Experience working with SaaS developers.
