About the Role

The Senior Director, Commercial & Marketing - Americas is responsible for overseeing the regional Commercial, Marketing, and Communication strategy, as well as operational execution within the United States, Canada, and Latin America regions. Reporting to the Vice President, Global Commercial, this role aims to drive revenue growth, expand market presence, and foster strong relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders. The position involves leading and developing a high-performing team to ensure alignment with DECIEM's overall objectives and delivering exceptional results across the region's functions. It is a hybrid role based out of NYC, with a focus on building growth to power good and supporting DECIEM's values of impact, respect, care, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the formulation and execution of DECIEM's Commercial strategy in the Americas region (US, Canada & LATAM), in line with the company's goals and objectives
  • Develop sales strategies and an execution plan with the Partnerships team in each region to meet and maximize sales and profitability and exceed key performance indicators
  • Develop customized market strategies and plans for New Markets, including mapping distribution networks, identifying partnerships, and establishing regional offices or warehouses
  • Anticipate and manage risks, internal and external, and develop risk mitigation plans with agility and personal accountability
  • Implement a regional brand marketing and communications strategy that maximizes consumer engagement and earned media value, leveraging the differentiated brand model with local relevance
  • Lead regional brand service models and merchandising formats by channel; accelerate retail and direct-to-consumer channels, including omnichannel strategy development
  • Influence marketing practices and processes across traditional and social media to execute with agility in a rapidly-evolving media environment
  • Develop and implement a vision for in-store retail consumer experience to drive conversion, productivity, digital experiences, and education
  • Work closely with the Regional Head of Communications to adapt and leverage global strategy and develop investment plans aligned with regional priorities
  • Oversee and manage the operating expense (OPEX) budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals, and lead all P&L, demand planning, and sales assessments for the region
  • Manage, train, mentor, and support the performance of all direct reports, setting clear objectives and supporting their development plans

Requirements

  • Experience in building, managing, and empowering large teams, preferably in Commercial, Marketing, and Communication functions
  • Strong business and financial acumen with analytical skills and a proven track record in a commercial role working with key retailers such as Sephora and Ulta
  • Creative strategic thinker with experience overseeing marketing or brand functions and understanding the role of marketing and communications in commercial strategy
  • Ability to work well under sustained pressure, managing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines
  • Well-developed business acumen and understanding of how to implement and manage change

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in or overseeing a marketing/brand function with an understanding of how marketing and communications play an integral role in commercial strategy development
  • Experience working with or managing retail partnerships and distribution networks

Qualifications

  • Experience in managing and empowering large teams, preferably in Commercial, Marketing, and Communication roles
  • Proven business and financial skills with experience working in a commercial environment with key retailers
  • Strong strategic thinking and marketing/brand oversight experience
  • Ability to manage pressure, conflicting priorities, and deadlines
  • Understanding of change management and business acumen
