About the Role

The Senior Editorial Content Manager will join the Workday Thought Leadership team within the Communications department, responsible for managing the newsroom and blog functions. This role involves creating, editing, and distributing compelling content to shape Workday's voice and enhance its reputation, supporting overall communications objectives. The position emphasizes high-quality content production, stakeholder collaboration, and strategic content management in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end content creation process, from ideation and outlining to writing, editing, and production of news articles, blog posts, and other written materials.
  • Ensure all content adheres to Workday's brand voice, style guidelines, and quality standards.
  • Generate innovative and timely topic ideas aligned with Workday's key messages and current events.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Public Relations, Executive Communications, Analyst Relations, Marketing, Product, and Industry teams, to gather information, align messaging, and ensure timely content delivery.
  • Manage internal contributors and blog requests across departments.
  • Develop and maintain a central newsroom and blog content calendar, ensuring alignment with broader communications and marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with distribution teams to ensure content is effectively disseminated across various channels, including the Workday website and social media.
  • Optimize content for search engines and other platforms to maximize reach and visibility.
  • Track and analyze content performance to measure effectiveness, identify trends, and inform future content strategy.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve newsroom workflows and processes to enhance efficiency and quality.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in journalism, editorial management, content marketing, or a related field, preferably in a corporate newsroom or agency setting.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong command of AP style.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful content strategies.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with senior executives and internal stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
