About the Role

The Senior Editorial Content Manager will join the Workday Thought Leadership team within the Communications department. This role involves managing the newsroom and blog functions, ensuring the creation, editing, and distribution of high-quality content that shapes Workday's voice and enhances its reputation. The position supports delivering timely, accurate, and engaging stories about the future of work and Workday's impact on the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end content creation process, including ideation, outlining, writing, editing, and production of news articles, blog posts, and other written materials.
  • Ensure all content adheres to Workday's brand voice, style guidelines, and quality standards.
  • Generate innovative and timely topic ideas aligned with Workday's key messages and current events.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Public Relations, Executive Communications, Analyst Relations, Marketing, Product, and Industry teams to gather information, align messaging, and ensure timely content delivery.
  • Manage internal contributors and blog requests across departments.
  • Develop and maintain a central newsroom and blog content calendar, ensuring alignment with broader communications and marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with distribution teams to ensure content is effectively disseminated across various channels, including the Workday website and social media.
  • Optimize content for search engines and other platforms to maximize reach and visibility.
  • Track and analyze content performance to measure effectiveness, identify trends, and inform future content strategy.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve newsroom workflows and processes to enhance efficiency and quality.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in journalism, editorial management, content marketing, or a related field, preferably in a corporate newsroom or agency setting.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong command of AP style.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful content strategies.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with senior executives and internal stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
