Job Description

About the Role

This role involves designing, developing, integrating, testing, debugging, and validating real-time embedded software, embedded RTOS environments, embedded systems, microcontroller firmware, communication protocols, and platforms for wireless chipsets supporting 3G, 4G, 5G, AI, and other current and future technologies. The engineer will develop platforms, evaluate tools and processes to improve software development, support customer issues, create engineering documentation, and contribute to design reviews and project meetings. The position may allow telecommuting with reporting to Qualcomm's Santa Clara, CA offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, perform, and oversee the design, driver development, integration, testing, debugging, and validation of embedded software for wireless chipsets.
  • Develop and debug platforms in addition to on-target development.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement tools and processes to continually improve the software development process.
  • Provide support on customer issues and requirements to Software Application Engineers.
  • Create engineering documentation for intellectual property and prepare technical specifications and requirements.
  • Act as a strong contributor during design reviews and project meetings.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or a Bachelor's Degree with five (5) years of progressive experience in a related occupation.
  • Experience in embedded software development, embedded RTOS, communication protocols, or related areas.
  • Ability to develop and debug embedded platforms and firmware.
  • Strong understanding of wireless communication technologies such as 3G, 4G, 5G, and AI.
  • Experience with tools and processes to improve software development.

  • Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree with relevant experience.
