Senior (EPIC) Project Manager- IT PMO

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver projects in terms of complexity, risk and/or business criticality through effective management of budget, schedule, scope, quality, and value.
• Accountable for project communications, milestone tracking, resource planning, financials, risk assessment, prioritization, escalation and resolution of critical issues to project sponsors/owners.
• Develop the project plan, approach, objectives, and key output; identify and supervise key measures of success.
• Develop a comprehensive project plan incorporating output, resource plans, landmarks, accountabilities, and communication plan and timelines.
• Provide regular status reporting on plan progress and ensure all company standards are followed.
• Ensure appropriate testing and quality reviews are conducted and receive sign-off.
• Identify and align project resource requirements including employee and contractor resources and work with plan sponsors to ensure adequately skilled resources are available to deliver on project commitments.
• Provide effective leadership to project resources to ensure timely delivery of tasks and broader project achievements.
• Work with business partners, vendors, and staff to develop the project agenda and ensure agreement/adoption of project objectives.
• Provide proactive project communication to project owner.
• Identify cross-organizational interdependencies and ensure appropriate integration to project plan.
• Manage client expectations and resource requirements to ensure ownership and success.
• Build and lead the overall project readiness plan and communicate impacts to partners.
• Lead and participate in post-implementation reviews and present project metrics.
• Log, track, and raise high priority project issues that may impact project delivery.
• Foster continuous improvement of project management methodologies and share innovative ideas.
• Provide subject matter expertise in project scope definition, risk identification, resource allocation, and other areas.
• Coach and mentor staff regarding technology, methodologies, and standards.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure quick and effective responses to customer needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education/work experience.
• 7-10 years project management experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including executive level presentations.
• Successful track record of delivering projects that meet business objectives.
• Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of tools.
• Ability to formally present project related information in a clear, concise and persuasive manner.
• Excellent facilitation skills and ability to drive resolution to issues.
• Expert skills in project management methodologies, processes and industry standard tools.
• Successful experience driving cross-organizational teams to meet project objectives.
• Ability to relate well at all levels of the organization, building rapport and maintaining collaborative relationships.
• Solid understanding of contract management.

• PMP Certification.
