About the Role

Join the TIMSS & PIRLS International Study Center (ISC) at Boston College as a Senior Graphic Designer/Graphic Designer and become part of a team of experts redefining the measurement of mathematics, science, and reading achievement through TIMSS and PIRLS. Located at Boston College's Lynch School of Education and Human Development, the ISC conducts international assessments of student achievement in core subjects across more than 60 countries. The role involves creating publications, infographics, and illustrations to support educational research and assessment reporting, collaborating with researchers, assessment developers, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design print and digital publications using Adobe InDesign, including reports, brochures, and books.
  • Create illustrations with Adobe Illustrator and develop or edit images with Adobe Photoshop.
  • Collaborate with teams to translate ideas into visual content and ensure alignment with brand objectives.
  • Prepare files for print and web, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Work directly with researchers, assessment developers, reporting staff, web developers, and external vendors.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Strong drawing and design skills with a portfolio showcasing illustration work.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with print and digital media.
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field, or at least five years of relevant design and production experience.
  • Ability to understand and implement design principles and theory.
  • Strong visual storytelling skills and creativity.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to Have

  • Ability to animate graphics and infographics.
  • Experience with UI/UX Design.
  • Creating images utilizing AI tools.
  • Basic coding skills in HTML/CSS and JavaScript.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or at least five years of relevant design and production experience.
