About the Role

Wells Fargo is seeking a motivated Senior Information Security Engineer to join an exciting, fast paced team working on cutting edge encryption, tokenization and key management technologies that are leveraged to protect information companywide. This role will be an individual contributor to teams that design, deploy, and operationally maintain cryptographic products and services including Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) and security appliances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy and operationally maintain Hardware Security Modules and security appliances.
  • Drive design, deployment and automation strategies for encryption, tokenization and key management products and services including Hardware Security Modules, security appliances and security applications deploying in physical, virtual, and containerized environments.
  • Developing and deploying service health features which include synthetic transactions and system monitoring utilizing standard protocols such as Syslog, Splunk and Prometheus.
  • Participate in evaluation and testing of new cryptographic products and services.
  • Develop and maintain documentation including design and build guides, deployment strategies, automation guides and operational processes.
  • Support company driven audits, gather evidence of compliance to company policies, and drive product enhancements, when needed, to remediate findings.
  • Collaborate and work with all levels of professionals, including managers.
  • Support incident response, root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Conduct technical investigation of incidents to identify causes and recommend future mitigation strategies.
  • Create technical/engineering documentation and communicate effectively both in writing and orally.
  • Utilize agile scrum and Kanban processes to track work and participate in recurring agile meetings.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 2+ years of intermediate to advanced scripting/automation experience using tools such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, VBScript, JavaScript, UI Path, etc.
  • Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying automated solutions for technical and engineering processes.
  • Experience designing solutions using Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) or security appliance devices.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
  • Proven experience with change and incident management practices in medium to large enterprise environments.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD automated build and deployment processes.
  • Advanced scripting skills around log rotation, data collection, error collection and alerting.
  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing synthetic transactions for application and infrastructure monitoring.
  • Experience with Puppet, Chef, Ansible or similar automation tools.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure upgrades, security patches, or version upgrades.
  • Application development experience.
  • Experience supporting applications in Linux and Windows server environments.
  • Experience performing technical product assessments and developing implementation plans in large enterprises.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced critical thinking, problem solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, GIAC or equivalent.
  • Cloud certifications such as AZ-900, MS-900 or higher.
  • Knowledge of Splunk.
  • Understanding of banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
