The Consumer Media Insights team plays a key role in driving business decisions through data-backed insights, with a focus on subscription and product analytics. The role involves strategic analytics projects, collaboration across multiple business units, and leveraging advanced analytical techniques to maintain competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced analysis on subscriber acquisition, retention, and engagement, as well as content and competitor performance.
  • Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to provide high-quality data requirements for complex SQL or Python pipelines, ensuring a trusted source of truth for key Bloomberg metrics.
  • Partner with product, marketing, data engineering, and finance teams to define KPIs and enable performance reporting on those metrics.
  • Support and unblock junior-level team members with technical and analytical guidance.
  • Monitor industry standards, market shifts, and emerging subscription trends to inform and drive analytical capability.
  • Identify new opportunities for using data across Bloomberg's subscription and product ecosystem.
  • Clearly, consistently, and broadly communicate insights that inform subscription strategy, product vision, goals, and impact to leadership and across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent experience in a research-related field (computer science strongly preferred, statistics, mathematics, or similar).
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in analytics or related fields, with a focus on subscription or digital product analytics.
  • Proven technical expertise with SQL and Python (experience writing complex queries and building scalable analysis pipelines).
  • Familiarity with big data platforms and data management tools (BigQuery, Google Analytics, etc.).
  • Strong data visualization skills (Mode, Looker, Tableau etc.).
  • Experience with B2C subscription products, acquisition, retention, and payments.
  • Strong background in statistics and advanced analytics, including predictive modeling.
  • Ability to break down complex problems into structured, step-by-step solutions.
  • Highly effective leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with machine learning and predictive analytics techniques.
  • Knowledge of additional data management tools and platforms.

Qualifications

  • Educational background in a research-related field such as computer science, statistics, or mathematics.
