About the Role

The Senior Key Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing customer relationships within the Northern Florida Territory (Tampa Area), focusing on meeting or exceeding sales volume and contribution targets. The role involves developing business plans, maintaining customer and trade-lane specific strategies, and engaging with clients to promote CMA CGM's shipping and logistics solutions. The position is part of CMA CGM Group, a global leader in shipping and logistics committed to innovation, sustainability, and humanitarian efforts, with a presence in over 160 countries and a workforce of more than 155,000 employees worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain customer and trade-lane specific business plans to achieve or exceed weekly production quotas.
  • Pre-plan and work sales territories ensuring a minimum of 12-15 face-to-face sales calls per week, excluding management meetings, holidays, and vacations.
  • Utilize travel and customer entertainment budgets to strengthen customer relationships and support business plan achievement.
  • Qualify new BCO or value-added NVOC business opportunities by reviewing market data and ensuring active customers with volumes greater than 100 TEUS are called on within the sales territory.
  • Ensure follow-up occurs after each customer sales call, with at least one follow-up email or correspondence per call.
  • Make 20 pre-qualified cold calls per quarter to grow the active customer base within the sales territory.
  • Respond promptly to all emails, memos, or requests for information, acknowledging and following up within specified timeframes.
  • Prepare and complete weekly management reports, including sales plans, expense reports, and KPI territory reports.
  • Engage clients in utilizing e-services, with a minimum of 15 accounts per quarter.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 5-10 years of general industry experience, with at least 8 years in the shipping or logistics industry.
  • Preferably 5 years of carrier outside sales experience.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with business development and client engagement in logistics or shipping sectors.
  • Familiarity with market data analysis and sales planning tools.
