The Analytics, Investments and Marketing Enablement (AIM) team, part of Global Commercial Services Marketing (GCSM), is the analytics engine that enables the Global Commercial business. The team drives customer acquisitions, engagement, and retention by evolving card and beyond-card products through delivering analytics, insights, and data products. The Senior Manager role, based in New York, focuses on US Commercial Customer Spend Engagement and Retention Analytics and Data Sciences, working closely with stakeholders in the US and across teams in NY and Gurgaon, India. This role is part of the 'Paid Search Digital Acquisition Analytics' team within AIM, responsible for analytics for Project Flywheel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating world class analytical solutions and developing cutting edge, future-proof Identity & Personalization capabilities powered by Data, Dynamic Intelligence.
  • Delivering innovative targeting solutions in collaboration with stakeholders across Global Commercial Services, Enterprise Digital and Data Solutions group & External Mar Tech Partners.
  • Optimizing performance and driving efficient growth through developing personalized acquisition incentive strategies, including launching Dynamic application capabilities for small business credit card applications.
  • Developing analytics to devise targeting strategies for Employee Card offerings to small business credit card holders visiting American Express web assets.
  • Pulling and analyzing data to develop actionable data-driven insights through a deep understanding of the commercial business.
  • Developing and fostering cross-functional relationships with partners across American Express to ensure project prioritization and implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Finance, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Economics).
  • 2+ years of experience with PySpark, Python, SQL, or SAS.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills to solve unstructured and complex business problems and communicate key findings to senior leaders.
  • Strong understanding of the digital eco-system related to digital analytics, including tools and technology like Clickstream logs, Data management platforms, and Real-time recommender systems.
  • Ability to work within cross-functional teams to connect dots and bring innovations to life.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage team members and partners.

Nice to Have

  • 2+ years of digital analytics experience and familiarity with paid marketing channels and digital marketing technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and across a matrix organization with cross-functional teams and external vendors to deliver solutions quickly.

Qualifications

  • Educational background in a quantitative field such as Finance, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Economics.
