This position is responsible for leading the planning and management of major cross-functional projects at the manufacturing site, supporting initiatives such as new product trials, technology implementations, system updates, and process changes within a dynamic cell therapy environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the planning approach for large, complex, and high visibility projects and programs including project structure, governance structure, planning activities, and planning schedule.
  • Identify stakeholders and drive conversations to align on clear project requirements, scope, and deliverables.
  • Leverage site and global resources to identify the activities needed to produce the deliverables.
  • Identify and secure internal and external resources required to execute the work, supporting capital asset requests and budget management where applicable.
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules, driving and tracking execution to ensure timely completion and compliance with quality standards.
  • Plan and manage project team workshops and meetings, communicating outcomes via notes, risk and issue logs, and action items.
  • Lead the identification, assessment, and management of project risks, developing mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Drive escalation and resolution of project issues, ensuring proper documentation for business continuity and continuous improvement.
  • Control changes to scope and timeline in conjunction with project sponsors and governing bodies.
  • Prepare and deliver project status updates and presentations to stakeholders, ensuring ongoing visibility of project plans, risks, and issues.
  • Share project information effectively with stakeholders using online knowledge management tools.
  • Lead planning and management of project cutovers to ensure regulatory and cGMP compliance.
  • Manage operational handoff and project closure activities in line with site best practices.
  • Promote excellence in project management through use of PMO best practices, knowledge sharing, and process improvements.
  • Identify and champion opportunities for more efficient or effective future project planning and execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, information technology, business, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 8 years of relevant business experience, including a minimum of 2 years of direct project management experience; 3 years in biopharma or health sciences preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial, operational, and business management principles.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint; proficient in OneNote and SharePoint; SharePoint page development and Smartsheet skills are helpful.
  • Experience applying predictive/waterfall, iterative, and hybrid project management methodologies; PMP certification highly desirable.
  • Experience managing large, complex projects with minimal direction and high accountability from initiation to closure.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage and communicate a high volume of information across diverse stakeholders.
  • Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence across a global matrix organization.
  • Analytical problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess impacts of new information quickly.
  • Comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment, managing multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously, and prioritizing demands.
  • A passion for learning and continuous improvement in project management proficiency.
  • A team player skilled at building positive relationships and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Experience in project management consulting is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in cell therapy, Good Manufacturing Practices, FDA regulated, or other regulated environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant business experience, including project management experience.
