About the Role

The Senior Manager, Software Engineering, R&D, SCOPE at Manhattan Associates is responsible for managing multiple cross-functional teams involved in software application development for enhancements and new products. The role involves overseeing personnel, resolving team issues, and ensuring project completion within schedule and budget, with a focus on system or database design requirements. The position is based in Atlanta, GA, with a flexible work-from-home schedule but in-office presence required within commuting distance.

Key Responsibilities

Managing multiple cross-functional teams of software engineers, quality assurance engineers, business analysts, and managers.
Overseeing analysis, design, programming, debugging, and modification of products.
Selecting, developing, and evaluating personnel, including conducting annual reviews.
Resolving team issues and overseeing staff to ensure project milestones are met.
Monitoring employee contributions from initiation through delivery to ensure products are on schedule and within budget.
Managing personnel and staffing budgets, labor planning, and activity coordination.
Overseeing the development of design requirements for systems or databases.

Requirements

Four-year bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
7 years of experience developing, supporting, or implementing application software.
7 years of experience developing with C++ or Java (or 7 years with JavaScript and HTML).
Experience working in Linux or UNIX operating systems.
5 years of experience utilizing WebSphere, Jboss, or WebLogic application servers.
3 years of experience developing with Oracle or DB2 databases.
Experience leading small teams in software design and development.
2 years of experience developing with Spring, JEE, JSP, or JSF frameworks.

Qualifications

Experience in managing software development teams and projects.
Strong technical background in application development and system design.
