Job Description

About the Role

Join us in revolutionizing healthcare for rural America! We're looking for an MLOps Engineer to own the production side of our ML lifecycle - from deployment to monitoring to performance reliability. You'll work closely with our ML platform engineer, data scientists, and backend teams to create seamless, scalable, and safe ML operations that power real-world healthcare outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage the systems that support deployment, monitoring, and scaling of ML models in production.
  • Implement tooling for model versioning, A/B testing, rollback, and automated retraining triggers.
  • Set up and maintain observability infrastructure to detect drift, failures, and performance degradation.
  • Define and evolve CI/CD pipelines tailored to ML artifacts (e.g., models, features, configs).
  • Ensure strong data and model governance, particularly in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Collaborate with platform engineers to integrate training outputs into deployment-ready services.
  • Help shape best practices for ML reliability, reproducibility, and traceability at scale.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in MLOps, DevOps, or production ML engineering.
  • Deep familiarity with AWS services (especially SageMaker, ECR, Lambda, CloudWatch, Step Functions).
  • Proficiency with containerization (Docker), orchestration (ECS or Kubernetes), and CI/CD with GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Comfortable integrating with Snowflake and using dbt-modeled data.
  • Strong software engineering skills in Python, and experience with ML tooling ecosystems.
  • Clear understanding of model deployment challenges.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally in a small team, startup-paced environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in regulated domains (HIPAA, PHI), or in healthcare systems.
  • Familiarity with ML monitoring tools (e.g., SageMaker Model Monitor, WhyLabs, Evidently, or custom setups).
  • Experience with feature pipelines and data validation in production environments.
  • Prior exposure to infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CDK).

Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud services, containerization, orchestration, and CI/CD tools.
  • Proficiency in Python and ML tooling ecosystems.
  • Understanding of model deployment challenges.

Benefits & Perks

  • Competitive salary, equity grant, generous paid time off.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental & vision insurance with 100% of monthly premium covered for employees.
  • Company-sponsored 401k plan.
  • Flexible working arrangement.
