Senior Perception Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design perception algorithms for challenging real-world applications, and implement them in robust, efficient, and well-tested C++ code.
• Implement and integrate both novel and well-established image processing, feature extraction, detection, and classification techniques on streaming imagery.
• Collaborate closely with perception, tracking & estimation, and systems engineers to deliver integrated imaging systems.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of experience in C++ and strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with pixels, low-level statistical features and filter responses, and higher-level representations such as feature descriptors and embeddings.
• Experience implementing algorithms (statistical, ML, DL) for object detection, tracking, classification, and scene segmentation.
• Interest in system performance and collaboration across engineering disciplines.
• Willingness to build and iterate quickly, especially in early stages of algorithm development.
• Experience with design, development, testing, optimization, and deployment of real-time computer vision systems.
• Ability to create clear, concise, and detailed documentation.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with machine learning frameworks or hardware acceleration.
• Image and/or signal processing experience.

Qualifications
