About the Role

The Senior Product Manager - Prepared Foods Ham is responsible for managing all business activities for the Ham Business Unit at Tyson. This role oversees the P&L to meet Annual Operating Plan objectives, leads strategic planning, and develops or collaborates on long and short-term strategies, innovation, and sales programs to achieve volume, profit, and share targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the P&L for the Ham category, including developing and executing business plans, pricing, and cost savings strategies to meet volume, profit, and share objectives.
  • Plan and execute the Holiday seasonal bookings.
  • Manage budget and MAP spending for the Retail categories.
  • Own the monthly volume forecast for assigned categories, coordinating between demand and supply planning to ensure forecast accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Insights, Sensory, R&D, Customer Planning & Development, Sales Strategy & Planning, and the Business Unit to identify new ideas, build research and development plans, screen ideas, and optimize innovation offerings to meet consumer and operator needs with differentiation.
  • Lead development and execution of product and packaging innovation projects including concept development, feasibility validation, product and packaging, R&D, business proposal and approval, project execution, customer sell-in, and in-market performance tracking.
  • Work with sales to understand and integrate customer strategies into the innovation pipeline, proactively working on forecast accuracy, opportunity maximization, and plans to meet JBP objectives.
  • Own the brand strategy and marketing plan, develop campaign drafts, and manage agency relationships.
  • Monitor performance metrics to ensure sales volume and profit objectives are met, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Act as liaison with other corporate functions to ensure business initiatives receive necessary focus.
  • Identify opportunities for personal development and add value to Business Unit teams.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members to support talent development and career growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 6-7 years of experience in Product/Brand Management or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of P&Ls.
  • Proven track record in managing and meeting volume and profit targets.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with a consumer and operator focus.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively.
  • Experience managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Educational background: Bachelor's Degree (required), MBA (preferred)
