Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Electronic Trading Product team in the initiation and development of equity trading algorithms, transaction cost models, and order routing strategies.
  • Manage the quant research idea generation process and initiate research into trading signals and model factors.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Products to determine which research and results are suitable for further analysis or deployment into trading algorithms.
  • Manage other quantitative analysts in their participation in projects and the writing of research white papers.
  • Apply computational, mathematical, and statistical techniques in support of equity execution algorithm development and transaction cost modeling.
  • Originate quantitative models and analytical tools to address issues such as short-term volume/price forecasting, sentiment analysis, signaling, execution optimization, performance measurement, and risk attribution.
  • Maintain existing quantitative processes and develop new core analytical capabilities or model libraries using advanced statistical, machine learning, and quantitative techniques.
  • Devise or apply independent models or tools to verify results of analytical systems.
  • Interpret results of analytical procedures and recommend new processes or action plans.
  • Work closely with trading, technology, and model validation teams to improve product offerings.
  • Present key research findings and insights to team members.

Requirements

  • Ability to use quantitative and data science techniques to research and develop models and tools for trading algorithms.
  • Understanding of what quantitative research is commercially viable and computationally efficient.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, SQL, and KX-Q Studio.
  • Familiarity with the European equities market.
  • Creativity and ability to adapt and define processes.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a strong communicator.
  • Graduate Degree in computational finance or financial engineering.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of related experience in equity trading.
  • Knowledge of time-series data platforms (q/KDB+).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with machine learning techniques.
  • Knowledge of additional trading or financial systems.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate Degree in computational finance or financial engineering.
  • 3+ years of related experience in equity trading.
