About the Role

This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered. A Scrum Master is the servant leader of a scrum team, guiding the team in agile Scrum practices, assessing team maturity, removing impediments, facilitating ceremonies, and fostering continuous improvement. The role involves supporting a self-organizing team within an organization that values agility and collaboration, with an emphasis on building a trusting and safe environment for team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Scrum Master guides a scrum team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and how to get the most out of self organization.
  • Assesses the maturity of the scrum team, providing support and coaching their team to higher levels of maturity at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable to the team.
  • Removes impediments and/or guides the team on how to remove impediments.
  • Facilitates and leads Agile ceremonies such as Daily Standup, Demonstration, Story Point Estimation, Retrospective, Iteration Planning, and Backlog Grooming.
  • Fosters continuous improvement within the team.
  • Collaborates with team members without acting as a manager, lead developer, Project Manager, or Product Owner.
  • Removes impediments to a team's productivity by shielding them from outside influences.
  • Empowers teams and facilitates creativity while guarding quality and monitoring iteration progress.
  • Represents the team to management and disseminates information including metrics and charts.
  • Works with other Scrum Masters to ensure organizational process improvement.
  • Builds and maintains a trusting and safe environment where problems and issues can be raised without fear of blame or retribution.
  • Protects the team from external distractions, allowing focus on committed work.

Requirements

  • Typically requires 3-5 years' experience handling scrum teams and conducting scrum ceremonies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, JIRA, Agile, and SAFe Agile methodologies.
  • Mandatory experience with Agile Scrum practices.
  • Familiarity with LeanKit and ADO is desired but not mandatory.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with LeanKit and ADO.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, JIRA, Agile, SAFe Agile methodologies.
  • Mandatory experience handling scrum teams and conducting scrum ceremonies.
